Delays can only mean 1 thing
April 22nd, 2008 @ 9:32 pm 1 commentI am lazy.
But enough about that.
I recently started going outside again. It's been a while, and at first it was kind of weird going out and doing stuff by myself, but I got tired of the people I know saying I have strange taste in movies. So one day a few weeks ago I went out and saw shutter. It was kind of creepy, but not a whole lot. It was my kind of movie though. And then last weekend I saw The Forbidden Kingdom. Jackie Chan AND Jet Li. They kicked and punched the crap out of everything and it was awesome. At some point I think I am going to have to see Zombie Strippers.
I can't say that title without giggling.
On the "Gabe is boring" front, I have been reading up about python in games, and getting generally frustrated with it because while it appears that a majority of the games that do use python use it one way, I have everyone that uses python telling me to do it another way or they will point and laugh at me.
Yeah. Okay. Fine. Whatever. I am one of a billion wannabes out there that want nothing more than to make games. I try to be realistic about it. Games are very complicated bits of software. It's not like writing an online store (which I have done a few times at my current job). There's graphics (my main obsession), physics, audio, networking (if you're in to that sort of thing), design elements, blah, blah blah, blah blah. Games are fucking huge when you start from scratch.
But I have ideas bursting out of my ears in a bloody mess and then my brain starts moving a mile a minute to figure out possible solutions - How would I program it to do this or that? How do other people do it? I'll open up a piece of open source code and make my eyes water and forget about it, or do what I did while I was in college and buy a book about programming in games, only to stop reading it halfway through to play whatever new came out on the PS2/Wii/Xbox360/PC.
I'm determined now though. Some of these free games like Eternal Daughter and Cave Story fucking inspire me.

I recently watched what I think is the best zombie comedy about a boy and his zombie.
Ever.
Until about 7:30 I had no idea that this movie had made it to DVD. I saw the trailer for it about 6 months ago on Apple's trailer website and thought it was a possibly awesome idea, but I had no idea it would be like what I just watched. It was absolutely hilarious.
Zombies + Twisted Comedy + Little Boys = GOLD.
Also, because I have an addiction to stupid horror (as I previously mentioned), I picked up Ice Spiders. Because youtube appears to be completely devoid of trailers for it, here are two idiots on television re-enacting the movie with action figures. And to tell the truth, from what I've watched so far they are actually not too far off.
Yes. This is what I do with my Free Time.

Whats I been doin'??

After ignoring the hell out of my website for nearly 2 months I've finally thought of something to type. I tend to go through periods of lack of motivation.
Well ok. I am in a perpetual state of lack of motivation. I don't know if I can really describe the feeling of not really wanting to do anything except veg out and watch horror movies 24-7.
Not even good horror movies. I mean look at this. I was so desperate to watch The Re-Animator I f-ing went onto Amazon.com and f-ing ordered it. And then of course frikkin' best buy gets a new shipment of copies in 3 days before it arrives on my doorstep.
And I am sad to say that I am putting off getting the sequels because I just got From Beyond , which is also a pretty damn f-ed up movie.
I have probably over 230 DVDs. I think I may have a problem.
It USED to be that I had a rather disturbingly large video game collection. Then money got in the way and so I had to trade large numbers of them in to be able to feed my internal beast with newer video games. I mean, well, I still do that (half life 2 episode 2 comes out next week! F Yeah!), but the frequency of my video gaming is far outweighed by the frequency of the times I turn my XBox 360 on to run movies while I'm screwing around on the internet.
So yeah. That is pretty much what I've been doing. Watching horror movies, playing video games, and avoiding the outside world.
The outside world keeps asking me to do things for it. So what if I want to stay inside for a little bit.

LOST IS AWESOME! LOST! WHOOO
August 1st, 2006 @ 10:57 am 0 commentsI just found the best thing ever. a list of dvd releases.
and goddammit LOST season 2's dvd isnt going to be out until september, which is too many weeks away. On top of that, the official LOST website over at ABC says season 3 isnt starting until got-dang october! they announced that they won't be doing reruns out of nowhere like they did in season 2, so i guess it is ok to wait for a while for such a radtacular show.
V for Vendetta comes out on dvd today, and in 3 weeks Silent Hill comes out. I haven't seen V yet, but I heard it was pretty neat from a few people.
I saw the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and it was good. Yes i was annoyed by the ending, but so was everyone else so that is old news. Tommy was most dissapointed by the fact that the transformers trailer wasn't shown at the beginning of the movie (keep in mind that tommy has already watched the trailer about 40 times on the internet, so he was essentially being a gigantic penis about the whole thing)
